Vanessa Dinh-Nguyen, M.S.

Vanessa Dinh-Nguyen is the Collaborative Improvement Manager at ImpactTulsa who serves to increase quality education for students. She attended Oklahoma State University and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Sciences and a Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology from the College of Human Sciences.

Vanessa has had dynamic experiences working directly with students in a wide range of nonprofit organizations including the Oklahoma WONDERtorium, the YMCA of greater Tulsa, the Union of Vietnamese Student Associations-South Region. She previously served as an AmeriCorps member between 2016-2018 in the Tulsa Public School district. At City Year, she served as a near-peer mentor and tutor and also as a team leader in a new partnership creating and implementing practices that decrease early warning indicators of school dropout. While at Reading Partners, she served as a site coordinator improving literacy skills for elementary students kindergarten through 3rd grade and managing community volunteers and student portfolios. These opportunities have contributed to her knowledge and skills in supporting students’ social, emotional, and academic development.

Working at ImpactTulsa, she hopes to learn more about education and inform leaders in the community about best practices that are data informed. She is excited to be a part of systems change work to advance equity in education, especially for students of diverse backgrounds.
