As a dedicated StriveTogether Cradle to Career Network member, ImpactTulsa is deeply committed to advancing our collective vision of improving economic mobility in Tulsa. Today, we are excited to share our progress and aspirations as part of StriveTogether’s 4 Million Futures strategy. This groundbreaking initiative calls upon network members across the country to identify and commit to specific, measurable goals that will locally contribute to a national objective: placing 4 million more young people on a path to economic mobility by 2030.
Our Yearly Commitment: Building Foundations for Success
ImpactTulsa worked with Tulsa area partner organizations to set clear, measurable targets across seven key cradle-to-career outcomes—milestones that are critical to achieving long-term economic mobility. These outcomes encompass every stage of a young person’s journey, from kindergarten readiness to securing a meaningful career. By using the Child Equity Index, analyzing local data, and aligning our efforts with the unique needs of the Tulsa community, we are making meaningful progress along the cradle-to-career continuum with each other.
Our annual goals are collaboratively designed with a deep understanding that success is not a singular achievement but a steady process of progress. Every milestone we hit, from ensuring more children are kindergarten-ready to increasing high school graduation rates, brings us closer to securing economic mobility for our community’s youth.
Our 2030 Vision: Empowering 100,491 Youth to Thrive
By 2030, ImpactTulsa aims to ensure that 100,491 young people in Tulsa are on a clear path toward economic mobility. This number reflects not just a target but a commitment to transformative change within our community. Achieving this goal will require strategic partnerships, innovative approaches, and a relentless dedication to removing barriers that prevent students from realizing their full potential.
Our 2030 vision isn’t just about numbers—it’s about ensuring every child and young person has access to the resources, opportunities, and support they need to succeed. Whether through enhancing early childhood education, supporting college readiness, or fostering community-based employment opportunities, we are focused on strengthening the enabling conditions so Tulsa’s youth thrive in an increasingly competitive world.
Our Collective Song: Partnering for Impact
As we strive toward these ambitious goals, we are calling on our partners to join us in getting “mic’d up”—a playful nod to the legendary performances of The Temptations. Just as The Temptations harmonized individual talents into seamless performances, we see our collective work as a symphony of efforts. Each partner brings unique strengths and expertise to our shared goal of economic mobility, and when we come together, the impact is powerful.
Like a well-rehearsed performance, success in this endeavor requires participation AND ownership of our shared work. It’s essential that each organization—whether a school district, nonprofit, or local business—understands the impact of their contributions, stays aligned with our collective goals, and works with clarity toward a common destination.
Together, we can create a resonant impact that reverberates across Tulsa County. By integrating our data-driven strategies and resourcing and scaling what works, we ensure every young person in Tulsa has the opportunity to thrive, creating a ripple effect that benefits our entire community.
Get Involved
All of us have a role in making Tulsa a place where a child or young person has access and opportunity to succeed in school and beyond. We are at a pivotal moment for collective action in Tulsa–
- Our Research & Analytics team, in partnership with local organizations in a data working group, developed a novel eviction alert after several months of working with our data partners to analyze factors contributing to chronic absenteeism. This has paved the way to create a student-centered service response.
- Our mayor and over 100 partners accepted the call to galvanize work for Tulsa’s boys and young men of color as we were named an MBK Model Community. Over the past year, cross-sector organizations have worked together to develop MBK Milestone strategies to achieve population change by 2028.
- Our city committed to addressing attendance barriers and coordinating student-centered responses to ensure every child and young person attends school daily.
- Our place-based partners in North Tulsa have committed to doubling the living wage of residents over the next ten years.
- ImpactTulsa is part of the Tulsa Hub for Equitable and Trustworthy Autonomy THETA coalition, committed to ensuring K-12 connectivity to this unprecedented workforce opportunity to create technologies like drones, cybersecurity, advanced manufacturing and other complementary industries.
- And much more…follow us to join, support, and learn more about this shared work.
Are you mic’d up? There’s more than enough room for aligned contributions to Tulsa’s future.
